The Dutch cargo ship SS Breda was sunk by German bombers off the coast of Scotland on 23.12.1940.
In 1992, divers discovered the original banknote paper which had been destined to have been used for the printing of 10 Rupees banknotes.
The watermark depicts the representation of George VI and the inscription: “TEN RUPEES, RESERVE BANK OF INDIA”.
